They make us think that for every problem, from air pollution, social gaps and academic achievements, and of course, how not, car accidents, there is a mathematical, technological solution. Artificial intelligence would save us from ourselves. This approach grossly ignores human nature, social structures, cultures, personal and political interests and, in practice, preserves power in the hands of few who control our information, enabling them to reduce and even limit the freedom of choice and the freedom to conceive new ideas.
In practice, computers did not affect education, but not because of "them", but because technology was subdued in favor of an outdated culture that sees the student as someone who has to be "educated" and "tested." Venture capital funds and traditional investors consistently ignore the fact that the adoption limitation of new technology is the old social structure. Without realizing it, we submerge the potential inherent in man. So do Lyft, Uber, Airbnb and, even an autonomous vehicle.
To solve complex social problems, we need to propose a new model in which technology is developed, assimilated and influence. That is what we are here for. That is why we founded Eitan Capital.
